watched Pirates at the drive-in tonight too. food line was crazy but I'm glad they are having the turnout's for this. I hope they do so well they will get more new release movies down there.
and yes, we have a drive-in between Norton and Appalachia
I had forgotten about that drive-in. What's the name of it? In my younger days, probably 90% of the movies I saw were at the drive-ins there in Powell Valley and Clinchport (yes, there used to be one in Clinchport!). The other 10% was in Big Stone proper (forgot the name of the theatre, help me PVVikeFan!).
I'll have to load up the misses and check out the one in LPD country.
By the way, the last movie I watched was "The Lake House". Very good flick to take in with your significant other.
The CENTRAL Drive-in at Blackwood, (between Norton and Appalachia on the old road) great place!!! EXCELLENT FOOD!
And owned by a Dawg!

You're just too old to remember these things.
Kind of like me I guess.
There were 2 theatres in BSG, The Trail and The Earl. They were about 3 blocks apart on Wood Ave. More recently there was one in the old shopping center where Maloneys was.
The Trail!! yep, that was it. Wasn't it close to Gilley's Jewelers?

I thought Buddy Herron owned the Drive-in along with the other 2 theaters in Wise County and the one in Dryden.
It is Jeff Kiser that ownes it right, now that his mom died
Kilgore or KISER?
